Loyd Star Attendance Center - New Principal Joining Our Community

Excited at the opportunity to be joining the Lincoln County School District, Dena Ford is primed to begin her new role as Principal of Loyd Star Attendance Center.  She and her husband, Brian, have been married for nearly 24 years.  They have two sons and a daughter-in-law, Blake (Christine) and Bryce. Mrs. Ford completed her Specialist in Educational Leadership at William Carey University.  Her master’s and bachelor’s degrees were earned through the University of Southern Mississippi. She attended Forrest County Agricultural High School in Brooklyn, Mississippi. Mrs. Ford joins Lincoln County with an impressive resume’ spanning 17 years in education. During her ten years in the classroom, she taught Middle and High School mathematics with notable results in student achievement.  Mrs. Ford has been a successful administrator for six years, with her most noteworthy accomplishment being the drastic transformation that was Rawls Springs Attendance Center moving from an “F” rating to a “B” in her first year as principal.  Most recently, she served as an educational consultant, working with multiple schools and districts all over the state, in areas of school and teacher improvement and growth.  Mrs. Ford’s experiences and hands-on knowledge along with her drive for student success will marry well with the Lincoln County School District’s dedication to the students of Loyd Star Attendance Center.
