Student Transfers

Student Transfers INTO Lincoln County School District

The Lincoln County School District enables students who live in another school district and wish to attend a school in the Lincoln County School District an opportunity to do so, but must be approved by the Principal and the School Board. A transfer request must be completed and submitted each year for each student.

The request process requires the following documentation before your child can be enrolled in the Lincoln County School District:

  1. a release from the home District
  2. a completed/signed Request for Transfer In form
  3. approval by the receiving LCSD Principal
  4. approval by the LCSD Board of Trustees

Please allow a minimum two (2) months for the request to be voted on by both the releasing District and the receiving District.  Once the request has been reviewed/voted on by the LCSD Board of Trustees, the parent/guardian will receive notification of the decision.

Student Transfers OUT of Lincoln County School District

NEW PROCEDURE BEGINNING 2023-2024

Any student currently transferring out (approved in the 2022-23 school year) of Lincoln County School District may continue to do so following their yearly request and approval by both districts

Any Pre-K student who was enrolled during the 2022-23 school year with the receiving district as a K4 student will be allowed to transfer out of Lincoln County School District following submission of the request and approval by both districts.

Requests should be made prior to March 31st each year.

 

Lincoln County School District will not approve any new transfer out requests except as provided by law beginning in the 2023-24 school year.

 

transfer out is a student who resides in Lincoln County School District (Bogue Chitto, Enterprise, Loyd Star, or West Lincoln) and wishes to attend another school district.

 

Examples:

  1. A student (k-12) that transferred out of Lincoln County School District during the 2022-23 school year, will still be allowed to transfer out (for the 2023-24 school year) by the mutual consent of both districts concerned.
  2. A Pre-K student who was enrolled during the 2022-23 school year with the receiving district as a K4 student will be allowed to transfer out of Lincoln County School District (for the 2023-24 school year) by the mutual consent of both districts concerned.
  3. Any student who resides (currently or moves into) in the Lincoln County School District during the 2023-24 school year and did not transfer out during the 2022-23 school year will NOT be allowed to transfer out. (Except as provided by law.)

Student Transfers WITHIN Lincoln County School District

The Lincoln County School District educates students K-12 at four (4) attendance centers. Each school has their own school boundary line or school zone. Since these zones are within the Lincoln County School District, it is possible to transfer to another school even though you live in another school zone. A transfer request must be completed and submitted each year for each student.

The request process requires the following documentation before your child can be enrolled in the Lincoln County School District:

  1. a completed/signed Request for Transfer Within form
  2. approval by the releasing LCSD Principal
  3. approval by the receiving LCSD Principal
  4. approval by the LCSD Board of Trustees

Please allow a minimum two (2) months for the request to be processed and voted on.  Once the request has been reviewed/voted on by the LCSD Board of Trustees, the parent/guardian will receive notification of the decision.
