  • Senior Trip - THE SENIOR TRIP HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO APRIL 29
  • Terril Lloyd - Congratulations to Terril Lloyd for winning Loyd Star's FIRST EVER Powerlifting State Championship!
  • Announcement- There will be an 8th grade informational meeting on Thursday, April 16, at 5:30, in the gym. All parents of 8th graders and their student is encouraged to attend. Mrs. Redd will be discussing high school credits, graduation requirements, and scheduling for next year.
  • Choir - Our Jr. high Choir received two Superior Ratings today in Performance and Sight Reading at competition at Pearl High School. Congratulations!
  • Robotic Team - Mrs. Jessica Franklin and the Robotic team are looking for new members to their 2015-2016 Robotics Team. Students in grades 8- 11th who are interested are encouraged to sign up in the office lobby.
  • Fastpitch - On Friday, April 17 our Loyd Hornet Fastpitch team will host Bogue Chitto in their first annual "Strike Out Cancer" game. Everyone is invited to wear purple and come enjoy a great game. The team will be recognizing all cancer survivors and cancer patients. The team encourages everyone to wear PURPLE on Friday.
  • Tennis -  Loyd Star Tennis defeated Taylorsville in a semi-final playoff match yesterday 6-1. The Hornets will face Clarkdale for South State final next Tuesday, April 28th at the Brookhaven City Courts. Time 5:00pm
  • Fastpitch - Fastpitch has a few extra t-shirts for sale. See Coach Delaughter to purchase one.
  • KDMC - King's Daughters Medical Center now has applications available for their Junior Volunteer Program from June 1-July 31. You must be 15 to 18 years old to apply. Limited Applications are available in the counselor's office and the KDMC Human Resources Office. Deadline to apply is April 30.
  • Students - Students are reminded that you are not allowed to wear hats/caps and hoodies are not allowed to be worn in any building.
  • Teachers - Make sure you are requiring students to sign in and out (with times) if they are leaving class to go to restrooms. We are experiencing problems again.
