Character Quality for the week of May 6 – May 10: Courage vs. Fear

Courage – Fulfilling my responsibilities in spite of being afraid.

Health Tip of the Week:  Get a Good Night’s Sleep – Two of the biggest barriers to a good night’s sleep is too much caffeine and screen (TV, Computer, Cellphone) time in the evening hours.  We know how important sleep is to help out bodies function correctly, so cut out the soda and turn off the electronics before bed.

SPORTS:

·         Tuesday, May 14 – TENNIS State Tournament – Ridgeland Tennis Center

COIN DRIVE: The Play Day Coin Drive has been extended to TODAY.

BASEBALL:

• All High School Baseball Players need to have all uniforms and jackets turned in TOMORROW to Coach Barrington.
• All Jr. High Baseball Players need to meet in Coach Addison’s Room at 1^st break TODAY.

VARSITY CHEERLEADERS: The Varsity Cheerleaders need to stay after school TOMORROW in Mrs. Kimble’s Room until 4:00.

TENNIS: No official tennis practice TODAY, but the courts are available.  There will be a meeting TOMORROW at 1^st break.

ATHLETIC PHYSICALS: All boys in grades 6, 7, 8 and 7^th grade girls will have physicals TOMORROW.  Please have your forms completed and turned in.  Also, the cost is $10.00 due the day of the physical.

LETTEMAN JACKETS: Mr. Box will be here Friday, May 10 to finalize orders for letterman jackets.

CROSS COUNTRY: Tryouts will be Thursday, May 16 at 3:15 p.m. in front of the gym. You must have a physical to tryout.  The sign-up sheet for high school is on Mr. Case’s door and the sign-up sheet for junior high is by Coach Allen’s door.

JR. HIGH BOYS BASKETBALL: Tryouts will be May 16 and 17 during 6^th period (1:02 – 1:57).  You must have a physical to tryout.  The sign-up sheet for 7^th graders will be in the gym lobby and the sign-up sheet for 6^th graders will be posted on Mrs. Courtney’s window.

EMPLOYEES:

• We will have a mandatory staff meeting TOMORROW at 3:15 p.m. for the MCT2 in the library.  Everyone (certified and noncertified) is expected to be present at the meeting since everyone will be involved with testing one way or another.  Please mark your calendar and make arrangements to be present.
• If you hold a CDL license and need the class this summer, please let Mrs. Martha Lofton know ASAP.

CAFETERIA: If your class will not be eating in the cafeteria between now and the end of the school year, please let Mrs. Amy Charboneau know ASAP.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

• ACT – Saturday, June 8
• Athletic Physicals – May 9, 13 & 15 –Need to bring their $10.00 and their eligibility packet.
• Awards Day – Monday, May 20 – Elementary at 8:30 a.m. – Grades 7-12 at 1:00 p.m.
• Athletic Banquet – Monday, May 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria.

SOPHOMORES: The sophomores this year, or juniors next year need to order the t-shirts for the first day of school by Friday, May 17.  Mrs. Monica has the order form and money in her office.  If you do not order by next Friday, you WILL NOT have a t-shirt for the first day of school next year.  NO shirts will be ordered after May 17.
