In-District Transferring

The following information addresses school district transferring of students.

In-District School Transferring

Lincoln County School District educates students K-12 at 4 attendance centers. Each school has their own school boundary line or school zone. Since these zones are within the Lincoln County School District, it is possible to transfer to another school even though you live in another school zone. A transfer request must be completed each year, per student. For any of this to happen, the following must take place:

Procedure to follow:

1.) Contact the principal of the transferring school you wish to attend in another school zone (Bogue Chitto, Enterprise, West Lincoln or Loyd Star). In most cases, classroom space must be reserved for students who will be moving into that particular school zone at a future date. If classroom space is available, the principal may accept the transfer.

2.) After talking with the principal, he/she may advise you to download or go to the Central Office and complete the In-District Transfer Form. Then, return the completed form to the Central Office for processing.

3.) Wait until the request can be reviewed by the Lincoln County School Board at the next board meeting. See district calendar for meeting dates.

4. ) You will be notified if the school board denies or accepts the request. If the school board denies your transfer request to attend another school zone in our district, your request will be finalized as denied.

** A tuition fee is NOT required for In-District School Zone transfers.
